Avocado toast is such a trendy food right now! We love avocados at my house and eat one almost every single day.
To make this famous avocado toast, start by choosing a base for your “toast” element. You can use toast, english muffins, bagels, really anything that your heart desires. In this article I’m just using a basic whole grain toast so we can focus more on the toppings.
This next step is usually the hardest: picking a ripe avocado. Avocados are tough because they transition from “almost ripe” to “way too ripe” very quickly. When selecting your avocado you’ll want to pick one with that is just beginning to soften. If you’re planning to use your avocados a few days from now, pick out one that is bright green and hard to the touch.
Remove the pit, slice your avocado, and use a fork to mash/smash the avocado onto your toasted bread of choice. Now let’s make some avocado toast!

If you’ve never tried this seasoning, you are missing out big time. It’s literally all of the delicious seasoning you would find on an everything bagel! We put this on our avocado toast and it is a huge game changer.
Baby Arugula and Lemon Juice
This refreshing version of avocado toast is a great way to get your greens. Add a layer of baby arugula on top of your avocados and squeeze a little fresh lemon juice on top and you’re good to go.
Feta Cheese and Cherry Tomatoes
This is a fun Mediterranean twist! Feel free to add a little salt and pepper as well.
Arugula and Eggs
Start by adding a small layer of arugula on top of your avocado. Prepare your egg however you like it best. I usually prefer either a fried egg or scrambled egg when I put it on my avocado toast.
